Marble

Iran Marble is reputed in the international market for its premium quality, toughness and durability. It is often the preferred choice for interior and exterior of modern buildings, More generally in construction, specifically the dimension stone trade, the term "marble" is used for any crystalline calcite rock (and some non-calcitic rocks) useful as building stone.
Iranian Marble is a metamorphic rock composed of recrystallized carbonate minerals, most commonly calcite or dolomite. Geologists use the term "marble" to refer to metamorphosed limestone; however stonemasons use the term more broadly to encompass unmetamorphosed limestone. Marble is commonly used for sculpture and as a building material.Ranges in many colors and is usually heavily veined and shows lots of grains. Hardness rates from 2.5 to 5 on the MOH Scale.

Marble is classified into three categories
1. Dolomite: If it has more than 40% magnesium carbonate.
2. Magnesian: If it has between 5% and 40% magnesium carbonate.
3. Calcite: If it has less than 5% magnesium carbonate.
Iranian Marble comes in a large variety of colours. Most common types of Marble are Biege, White, Cream, Green , Red and Ivory
